Alamogordo is planning something big for the New Mexico state centennial in 2012!

On January 6, 1912, New Mexico became the 47th state in the United States of America. With the Women's history Committee as the organizing committee, the City of Alamogordo along with many civic organizations and businesses are determined to make Alamogordo's centennial celebrations the biggest in the state!

Our plan is to have 52 organizations in town sponsors events in 2012 - one each week - to keep the celebration going all year long! At last count, more than 30 organizations had already signed up. Projects should tie into the centennial celebration but are otherwise open to your creativity. All projects must be approved through the Women's History Committee, so please submit your program ideas today. And even if you're not sure what you want to do yet, contact us to get on the calendar.

Small "jumpstart" funds are available to help you help us create the best centennial celebration in the state! Contact us today.
